North Yorkshire’s plentiful crystal-clear plunge pools, waterfalls, gorges, weirs and fast flowing rivers will have those seeking budget friendly outdoor fun exploring the Yorkshire dales.

5. Stainforth Force, River Ribble
A series of river pools and falls set beneath an old packhorse bridge. Grassy banks and good paddling with a deep plunge pool only for the experienced swimmer or for those who risk jumping in. 6. Burnsall, River Wharfe
The River Wharfe is one of the best wild swimming rivers in the Dales. Burnsall is one of its most popular wild areas with pools and rapids.
