Hopefully some of Scarborough’s gull population have now moved inland, as we observed well over 100 in a grassy field beyond Johnson’s Pond. Also present was a solitary heron, several moorhen and wigeon. Wigeon are mainly winter visitors, readily picked out in flight by their conspicuous white wing bar.
