The chairman of Welcome to Yorkshire has praised Beverley for its embracing of the Tour de Yorkshire.
Sir Gary Verity said residents should be proud, as the eyes of the world turn to the historic town as final preparations are under for Stage One's ceremonial start.
He said: "Beverley has done really well - it's looking a picture.
"Look at all the thousands of school children here. This is a day that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
"It's a piece of history set in a wonderful town.
"Bridlington did really well last year and Beverley will be equally as good."
