Hide AdThe rescue came shortly after HM Coastguard released figures showing a spike in incidents over the last few days.
Jordan Grebby, Senior Maritime Operations Officer for Humber Coastguard, said: "We will always respond when someone’s in trouble but we’d like to remind people they really need to think carefully about what they do this weekend.
"Every call out puts our frontline responders at greater risk of Covid-19 and puts avoidable pressure on the NHS."
Saturday also saw Whitby Neighbourhood Policing Team issue six fines to people who they said did not have "a reasonable excuse" to travel to Whitby from their home towns.
