Scarborough Valkyries skipper Sam relishing return to action
Although the contact side of the game is kept to a minimum, Knight has seen a real buzz among the players.
“Things are looking really good at the minute and we’re all enjoying being back,” she told The Scarborough News.

“There is so much excitement surrounding us at the minute and we’ve been getting emails from the league about getting set up which is positive for us.”
With the side wanting to establish themselves ahead of the new season, Knight has seen a few new and old players returning to training and looking to get stuck in.
She added: “We’re still getting messages from players who are interested with joining the side and there are a few old players who have returned.

“Obviously, lots of us are wanting to get a few pre-season games organised, but at the minute it’s all about building up our training and preparing for the future.”
England’s women brushed Italy aside in the Six Nations, winning 67-3 and Knight is hoping that increased exposure of the women’s game will see more players playing rugby at Silver Royd.
Knight added: “I think it’s helping the game but there needs to be even more exposure.
“All clubs are promoting women’s rugby and the Six Nations and I’m confident that the game is going in the right direction and that more girls will come and play.”
