Bridlington’s Geoff Oldham and Brian Whitehouse win Borough Bowling Club Over-60s Doubles

A great entry of 60 bowlers from all over the East Coast region enjoyed a superbly prepared running green.

Hunmanby’s husband and wife pairing of Billy and Sue Holdsworth were first through to the final with a 21-16 semi-final victory over teammates Pam Watson and Phil Todd.

While the pairing from Bridlington of Geoff Oldham and Brian Whitehouse saw off Boroughs Pete Charter and Phil Todd 21-11 in the second semi-final.

Oldham and Whitehouse were in no mood to be beaten in the final and raced into a 13-4 lead before eventually taking the trophy with a 21-8 victory.

Borough President Steve Taylor presented the prizes to the winners.
