Beckett League Division One pacesetters Amotherby & Swinton see off 10-man Snainton

Beckett League Division One leaders Amotherby & Swinton earned a 3-1 home win against 10-man Snainton to pull 10 points clear of second-placed Union Rovers.

Fourth-placed Snainton could only manage 10 men and battled well to make it a goalless first half. Snainton tired in the second half as the hosts took a 3-0 lead through Matthew Bean, Nathan Cross, and Macauley Lacey, writes Keith Sales.

Regan Hewitt scored a great consolation goal for the visitors and five minutes from time ref David Purdy sent off Amotherby’s Josh Singleton.

Man of the Match winners were Nathan Cross (Amotherby & Swinton) and Rob Holt (Snainton).

The hosts led 2-0 at the break through Brad Marshall and Josh Sands.

The second half saw Dan Greaves net twice to level, man of the match Eric Hall then netted a hat-trick to hand Ayton the win. Ayton’s 16-year-old keeper Harry Pinder made a string of outstanding saves to keep his side in the game.

Man of the Match for Ryedale was Charlie Ridler.

Kirkbymoorside Reserves drew 2-2 at home to a depleted Rosedale.

Around 20 minutes in Tom Grainger set up man of the match Matthew Bower to put the visitors ahead.

The second half saw Bower use his pace to go around the Kirkby keeper and pull the ball back for Ryan Hewitson to slot home and double their lead.

Kirkby managed to sneak a goal back set up by Fin Watson for Daryl Rivis to score.

Kirkby kept on pressing and managed to get an equaliser scored by Oli Farrow, again made by Watson.

Man of the Match for Kirkby was Eddie Strickland.
