Roadworks in and around Scarborough - what motorists need to watch out for this week

Northern Gas Networks say the ageing metal pipework is being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now, while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in the future.

The planned end date is February 3 with the lane closure due to be in place for the full duration of the job – but the engineering teams may look to reduce the length of the closure sooner if it’s possible in order to reduce disruption.
