Reduced front desk opening hours at town police station
Whitby Police Station is going to have reduced opening hours in a bid to save the North Yorkshire force cash.
From May 2 the front doors will be open Monday to Friday, 9am-12.30pm.
Police crime commissioner Julia Mulligan says consultation started in November on the changes .

Hide AdAll stations across the county have been scrutinised and opening hours based upon population and useage statistics .
Whitby is deemed a medium station as it serves a population of over 10,000 but has less than 2,000 visitors per year.
Savings – £360,632 in 2016/17 and £393,417 per year thereafter – will be put into officer recruitment.
