Scarborough and Filey councils to work together to deliver 'plan of action' for Filey

The borough and town councils have announced they will work together to create a Local Area Action Plan.

Cllr Steve Siddons, Leader of Scarborough Borough Council said: “I am very pleased to be in a position to announce the start of a much closer working relationship with Filey Town Council and I am excited to work to develop a clear plan of action for meaningful investment in the town.

“At the heart of the plan will be making sure we ‘get the basics right’ and a quick win to secure the foundations of this new partnership will be to deliver a joint week of action and spring clean where we will spruce up the area ready for the season.

“We will be working with Filey Town Council, as a team, to engage with community groups to look at the areas where we need to give some love and attention to our wonderful town to show off why it is one of the jewels in the crown of the Yorkshire Coast.”

Cllr Jacqui Houlden-Banks, Filey Town Mayor, added: “Filey Town Council is delighted to be working with Scarborough Borough Council on the proposed Local Area Action Plan for Filey.

“Filey Town Council has worked hard to build a strong working relationship with Scarborough Borough Council to ensure the voice of Filey is represented.”
