The Tour of Britain is due to pass through the Whitby area today (Sep 7) - and the front of the ICL site at Boulby has been specially decorated with land art created to greet the competitors.

The cyclists will pass the ICL Boulby mine as they pass on the right hand side of the road.

The event kicks off today at 11.30am on Redcar’s Esplanade, before heading through Staithes, Hinderwell, towards Whitby and on to the Esk Valley villages.
