Flamborough goes 'potty' as preparations for this year's Flower Pot Festival get underway

Organisers of the very successful Flamborough Flower Pot Festival have sprung into action in the build-up to this year’s event.

‘Team Potty’ has hosted three adult Potty Craft Workshops and one for the local children at Flamborough WI Hall.

A committee spokesperson said: “These sessions were well attended, and many ideas were shared and POTTY creations made. These sessions were free and all crafting materials were provided.

"We would like to thank the local inspirational model makers for hosting the event, the ladies of the WI, and Reighton Nurseries for giving us hundreds of pots.

"We will be running a Potty Craft session for the Flamborough Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in May.

“We have a special May Bank holiday Quiz on the sixth when the Bridbeat Charity Singers will be there to help us raise funds for the village school and Brownies. Non-members are welcome, so please come along and join in the potty fun!”

The committee has a busy time ahead, running its stall at Haven Thornwick Bay Holiday Village.

The spokesperson added: “Haven has been very supportive of the festival and we really appreciate its support.”

At the local May Day events in the village, members will also be handing out free plant pots and selling festival fridge magnets and badges.
