Bridlington named as one of the UK’s great escapes ahead of May Bank Holiday week
Bridlington has been named as one of the top 10 Great May Bank Holiday Escapes in a new survey.
The town was ranked fifth in the country behind Brighton, Blackpool, Cornwall, and Bournemouth in the findings by Travelodge.
Bank Holiday travellers are planning to spend on average £370 on their Maycation, the survey found.
Bridlington is a firm favourite with holidaymakers and is prepared for a very busy bank holiday season, which is great news for the local economy.
Holidaymakers are also yearning to be one with nature and want to explore the British countryside.
Top rural retreat destinations include the Cotswolds, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Peak District and the Scottish Highlands.
Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge spokeswoman, said: “The May Bank Holiday is the start of the 2021 great escape for many Britons and the official launch of the UK hospitality holiday season.
“We are delighted that Britons has named Bridlington as a top May Bank Holiday weekend destination. This is great news for the local economy and will give it a much-needed boost.”
