It revealed it will launch in new areas across the UK, including Yeovil, Bangor (Northern Ireland), East Kilbride, King’s Lynn, Scarborough, Llanelli and Exmouth, but a full list of locations has yet to be revealed.

In light of the pandemic, thousands of restaurants began to offer delivery for the first time. Deliveroo also grew its grocery partnerships with Aldi, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Waitrose in 2020, allowing vulnerable households facing lockdown and shielding to access essential groceries.

Carlo Mocci, Chief Business Officer UKI, Deliveroo said: “We are pleased to announce that we expect to launch in around 100 new towns and cities across the UK and expand our reach in existing areas throughout 2021 with the aim of reaching almost two thirds of the population.
