Workers at Boulby Mine, near Whitby, already top 2021 production of polyhalite
Figures for the third quarter ending in September show that Boulby’s production increased by nearly 10% year-over-year as sales continued to improve on higher prices and volumes.
So far this year, a record of more than 800,000 tonnes of polyhalite – marketed as Polysulphate – has been hoisted at Boulby.

“Once again it is a tribute to efforts and commitment of everyone involved which saw us able to successfully make the transition from potash to polyhalite, maintain operations throughout the challenges of the pandemic and now drive forward to secure the future.”
