The events team at Sewerby Hall and Gardens has put together a brilliant set of activities for Hallowe’en.
Visitors to the estate can take lessons from Professor Fumblefoot at the Sewerby School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with courses in Broomstick Making and Flying on Monday 28 October and Potions and Herbology on Tuesday 29 October. Aimed at both children and adults alike, these sessions take place in the Orangery at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2pm. At a cost of £5 for one child and one adult, booking is essential as places are limited to 30 people.
Wednesday 30 October sees the council’s education team hosting open sessions in the Orangery between 11am and 3pm. These free sessions focus on “Witchcrafts” and start on the hour. Booking is not necessary but each hour-long activity can only accommodate 30 people.
Halloween itself – Thursday 31 October – sees the repeat of a popular event from last year; pumpkin carving. Providing all the necessary materials, the council’s sport, play and arts team will be on site in the Orangery between 1pm and 3pm. Places are limited to 20 so early booking is essential. The cost is £5 for one child and one accompanying adult.
