NorthWolds Arts and Music is a new enterprise set up by former professional musician Al Best, to bring top class arts and music to small village halls and churches across the rural areas of East Yorkshire’s North Wolds.
The aim is to create performing arts experiences, not normally available to smaller communities, in the settings of village halls, churches and other small venues. On offer will be interactive hands on experiences, workshops, concerts, exhibitions and other events designed to enrich rural life. The first of what is hoped to be many of such events, sees eminent singer and guitarist Bob Fox in concert at Burton Fleming Village Hall.
“Our first concert is on October 5 and we have cherry-picked an artist who was the ‘Songman’ in the National Theatre’s production of Michael Morpurgo’s ‘Warhorse’ in the West End” explained Al Best, “He has also been nominated twice as ‘Best Folk Singer’ in the BBC Folk Awards and I know he will put on an excellent show.”
Al added: “This first event is a toe in the water to see what response we get and if all goes well we will be forging ahead with our 2015 programme much of which is already pencilled in.”
Bob Fox is in Concert Oct 5th at Burton Fleming Village Hall, South Street, Burton Fleming, YO25 3NZ
Tickets £10 from http://artsandmusic.org.uk/our-programme-of-events/

NorthWolds Arts & Music (NWAM) is a new, not for profit, project set up this year with plans to put on events in churches and small village halls in the East Riding. These will range from concerts to guitar workshops and exhibitions to smaller things such as a class on how to make Christmas wreaths. NWAM is currently in an experiment phase to gauge reaction and test ideas for a sustainable programme of activities. If all goes well the project will extend to other areas. http://www.artsandmusic.org.uk
