AS the summer season draws to a close, the opening hours for Flamborough lighthouse will be reduced from the end of the month.
Until September 29, the popular visitor tours will run daily from noon to 4pm but during October the lighthouse will only open on weekends and the half term holiday, which is Monday October 24 to 28.
It will be closed every Friday in the year due to maintenance.
Guided tours are available and provide useful and interesting information on how and why the lighthouse operates, as well as giving visitors the chance to climb the 119 steps to the top of the lighthouse to see the wonderful views of the Heritage Coast.
Visiting the lighthouse costs £3.10 for adults, children and over 60s £2.10, and families (two adults and three children) £10.
Group visits can be booked through Sewerby Hall and Gardens on 673769 and further information can be found by visiting www.trinityhouse.co.uk
