ADULT education classes for people to learn more about a subject as a hobby rather than working towards a qualification are on offer at East Riding College.
Traditional crafts of stonemasonry and woodcarving will be on offer after Easter at its Bridlington campus.
Head of construction Ian Frear said: “These are courses for novices who would like to develop their interest.
“Both courses will help learners become familiar with the materials and tools used in these disciplines, and they will have the opportunity to work on their own projects.”
Stonemasonry for Starters will teach how to identify the appropriate tool for different applications within stonemasonry and produce, develop and design ideas for their own individual projects.
Woodcarving for Novices is ideal for people who would like to have a go at basic relief carving or sculptures.
They will be able to experience and experiment with the fundamental principles of woodcarving, developing skills at their own pace using high quality tools and materials. Both courses run for 10 weeks and cost £80, or £40 for those eligible.
Start dates can be postponed or brought forward if enough people register their interest.
