A property programme will shine the spotlight on the Yorkshire coast, with crews filming various locations around Bridlington this week.

The team from Coast v Country were on Flamborough North Landing beach on Monday morning and were at Sewerby later in the day.

Presenters Kirsty Duffy and Kerr Drummond are trying to convince a family from Dewsbury to buy a coastal property or a rural home. But who will be the most persuasive? Viewers will find out on Channel Four later this year.

Kirsty, whose job it is to sell the benefits of country living, said: “I’m from West Yorkshire and lived there until I moved down south when I was 18.

“I used to come to Bridlington and Whitby for nearly all my holidays as a little girl, so it is tough for me because I am trying to persuade our couple to move to the country, even though I love this coastline.”

Having spent last week filming around the English Riveira in Torquay, the presenting duo said this week’s househunters could expect much more for their money in this part of the country.

Househunters Craig and Estelle were shown rural homes in North Frodingham, Nafferton and near Driffield, and properties at Whitby, Atwick and Fraisthorpe.

Kerr, who encourages buyers to relocate to the coast each week, said: “You always get more for your money in the countryside but it is more balanced in Yorkshire. In some places you can double the price.

“And whenever we come to this stretch of the coast, the weather is always glorious.”

The programme is trying to recruit more househunters. Anyone is interested in taking part can email househunters@coastvcountry.co.uk or call 01923 285282
