Bridlington and Sewerby both suffered defeats as the York & District Senior League Division One season began in earnest, following last weekend’s near wash-out.
Division Two North champions Selby marked their return to Division One with a three-wicket win at home to Sewerby.
Lewis Beasley made 58 out of the visitors’ 156 as Elliot Precious (3-32) and Lee Wild (3-42) shared six of the nine wickets to fall.
Wild went on to complete a fine all-round performance with 27 and Gary Moore made 39 as the home side got their campaign off to a winning start.
Malton & Old Malton enjoyed a comfortable victory as they travelled to Bridlington.
Despite five wickets for Grant Hutton (5-46), Malton reached 187, thanks in part to Stephen Linsley (40) and Neil Johnson (37).
Anthony Heaton (50) held the Bridlington innings together but his half-century was not enough to prevent them being bowled out for 115, Daniel Foxton ending with 3-15.
