Goole Town remain in second place in York Senior League Division One but were unable to take the final two wickets which would have given them victory at home to Sewerby 1sts.
Oscar Sugden made 103 in a total of 251-9 to which Steven Smith (48) and Ben Shelton (42) also made notable contributions. Shaun Acton took four wickets but was unable to contain the batsmen and the total proved well beyond the visitors.
Matthew Rennoldson (48) top scored in the reply 178/8, as despite three wickets each for James Kerr and Ben Lamb the home side had to settle for a winning draw.
Beverley Town 2nds secured their first win beating hosts Bridlington by 42 runs. The visitors led by Michael Cooke (85) and Brad Dobson (49) made 192/9 despite the efforts of Will Hall (5-39).
Casey Rudd (56) and Simon Leeson (31) gave the home side a shot at chasing down the target but eventually fell short as Peter Parnaby (3-13) helped secure victory for the away side
Wykeham edged to a two-wicket win at Grindale in a thrilling encounter in the Beckett League.
Gareth Barnard took 5-30 and Dave Pearson 3-30 as the hosts were dismissed for 154, Richard Jackson’s 62 and Josh Dawson’s 42 the driving force behind Grindale’s innings.
Dawson then took charge with the ball, taking 3-31, while Liam Cousins bagged 3-36 but Wykeham secured the win thanks to solid batting from Craig Bateman, 40, and Pearson, 29
Bridlington 2nds’ batsmen Steve Lount and Greg Miller both chalked up centuries as they eased to a 102-run Division B win at Scarborough College against Scarborough 3rds.
Lount hammered 118 and Miller was unbeaten on 110 as the Brid lads posted a massive 273/1, and Scarborough only mustered 171/7 in reply, Tom Poor hitting 33 and Elliot Traves taking 4-23.
Thornton Dale earned their first win of the season with a 69-run win at Sewerby 2nds.
Gareth Hunt scored 48, with big-hitting Lee Oliver and Tim Hunt both adding 43 apiece in Dale’s 219 all out.
Sam Wragg’s 70 gave Sewerby hope, but three wickets apiece from all-rounders Oliver and Tim Hunt saw the hosts skittled for 150.
Scott Wardman hit 41 and Lee Yarrow an unbeaten 36 as Wykeham 2nds won by 83 runs at home to Flamborough.
In the Derwent Valley League, Wold Newton 2nds raced to a 10-wicket win at home to Hospitals/Rugby Club thanks to top bowling from Mark Holtby and Dave Stockdale.
Holtby snapped up 5-13 and Stockdale 4-4 as the visitors sank to 28 all out and Newton eased home without losing a wicket.
Sherburn 2nds hammered hosts Sewerby 3rds by 173 runs, with batsman Rob Worthy and bowler Jamie Thompson their star men.
Worthy hammered 62, Ben Ryan added 42 and Joel Wharton chipped in with 29 as Sherburn made 189-7, Simon Porter putting in a first-class bowling display to earn 5-36.
Thompson then blew away struggling Sewerby, bagging 6-11 as the clifftop club were shot out for just 16 runs.
