Sewerby’s juniors have won a weekly indoor cricket league held in Scarborough over the past two months.
Matches were played at Scarborough Sixth Form College and Sewerby and Pickering’s under 10s both remained unbeaten, so a play-off was arranged to decide the overall winners.
Sewerby won by four wickets with an over to spare. Coach Rob Traves said: “The ability and enthusiasm shown by our juniors has been outstanding.”
They will receive their trophy at Scarborough’s North Marine Road ground next week from Yorkshire’s England international Ryan Sidebottom.
