Senna Proctor loses out in SIM racing series finale

Powered by Virtual Reality Racing the MSL Motorsport Consultancy FastR Touring Car eSeries with Power Maxed Racing featured eight race weekends streamed live on YouTube.

After two races per meeting at UK race tracks Brands Hatch (Indy), Silverstone, Croft, Snetterton 300, Oulton Park, Donington and Brands Hatch Indy he went into the final meeting just 19 points behind the Championship leader.

The Touring Car racer faced stiff competition all season battling against fellow real world racers as well as a number of experienced professional and amateur SIM racers.

With 20 points per race win, and bonus points for pole and fastest lap, going into the final round at Brands Hatch GP circuit the 22 year old was well placed to mount a serious push to secure the title.

Proctor, in a Honda Civic Type-R TCR, started well with a front row qualifying position and only missed out on Pole Position, and a bonus point, by a very small margin.

Race one went to plan with a significant contribution to his points haul with a solid performance to secure a podium finish.

With the grid reversal for the final race of the season Proctor started in the middle of the pack and was banking on capitalising on an initial slow pace with many ballast laden cars ahead of him.

With a number of other competitors still with a mathematical chance of the Championship there were numerous fierce battles right through the field.

Early progress, and with clear front running pace, Proctor’s Championship prospects were finally shattered with one encounter too many that sent him tumbling down the order and out of contention for overall honours.

Too much damage had been incurred for any prospect of competitive racing and Senna maintained position for a mid pack finish and allowed the final laps of the season to play out.

As for Senna’s 2021 real world race plans he is yet to confirm his intentions for the upcoming season.

For the last four seasons the Rudston-based driver has raced in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship which this year starts at Thruxton in Hampshire in late May.
