Dark Mahler eyes glory in Holderness point-to-point at Sheriff Hutton

A total of 108 entries have been received for the 6 race card, which will be run behind closed doors and therefore will not be open to the public.

The first race is a 2m 4f Conditions race for horses qualified in Yorkshire. Dark Mahler looks the stand out performer after his defeat of Monbeg Chit Chat last time but has a 10lb penalty to carry and could be his only hindrance.

Shantou Prince bounced back to form at this track last time and will appreciate any faster conditions, whilst Olivers Gold was a prolific winner under rules when with Mark Walford, this trip should see him to better effect and made a pleasing return at the Bedale when a close fourth to Seefood, Champagne To Go could have more to offer from the rest.

The second race is a maiden run over 2m 4f, the ones that are worth noting are the debutants, these include Will Easterby's Ask To Dance, a 5-year-old son of Ask he cost 8,500 Euros as a foal and will no doubt be of interest on debut.

Feel Like de Baune was still going nicely when brought down with a circuit to go and was well fancied, whist Universal Run is half brother to 94 rated 6 furlong winner Flying Empress and despite a good pedigree stamina may be an issue.

Miss Charlton was a creditable fourth on her return at the Hurworth, whilst Thornton Le Clay was ahead of her that day and may be better suited over further.

The most interesting runner could be You Too Bonny Lass, she was a hugely impressive Point to Point bumper winner but has been unlucky since, she clearly has plenty of ability and if putting in a clear round could be the class act.

The third race is the Restricted and there looks three horses already to get their heads in front, Vent d'Automne was disputing the lead when unseating in his Members race and having previously useful form when with Willie Mullins he will no doubt take the beating.

Super Lunar looks the next best after a good third behind Shepherds Cave most recently back at this track and recent Hurworth winner Fire Rock looks to have got his jumping together, but will have to raise his game to beat the leading pair on form. Teescomponents Boy was disappointing after his maiden win but should have more to offer.

The Mixed Open could prove an exciting race, Black River scored a trio of victories last season and did so in impressive style when last seen, Ballinahow Bill was fourth last season to subsequent Grimthorpe Gold Cup winner, whilst Kildavin Spider finished strongly to be narrowly denied at the Hurworth and will no doubt have benefited greatly for that effort.

Son Of Suzie and Winged Crusader are both highly competitive but been in the veteran stage they may find one or two too good. Monbeg Chit Chat has gone from strength to strength with his two runs this season and was only narrowly beaten at this track last time out, whilst the Brian Harding trained Lovely Job was a 130 rated winning chaser when last seen in 2019 and could be a decent recruit if primed after an absence.

The penultimate race is a veteran race for 9yo and over, Six A Side is well in to his teens now and looked as good as ever when third in a Musselburgh hunter chase last time, Monbeg Chit Chat could serve as the pace angle here, whilst Lovely Job could have the choice of this race too.

Seefood has a penalty to overcome for his recent win, whilst recent course winner Mr Witmore will have good claims but will have to step up his game once again to get his head in front.

The final race is an Open Maiden run over 3 miles and several of these are double entered, one that will likely prefer this trip is Thornton Le Clay who looks to stay well, Coniston Spa was a close fourth in his Mebers race last time in much hotter company than this, whilst Kimberly Boy and Master Thyne both having strong form on their last few outings with the former been a close third here last time out.

No Cruise Yet made a pleasing debut last time out at Sandon when finishing third and is another to note.
