A new group starts in Bridlington in March, aimed at getting people up and running.

It is designed to get beginners up to speed to be able to complete a 5km course, such as Sewerby Parkrun, in eight weeks.

Led by members of Brid Road Runners, RunTogether is free to sign up and starts on March 12.

Martin Hutchinson, of Brid Road Runners said: “This group is primarily for people who wish to start running. Its aim is to help you achieve a goal of running for 5km eight weeks after starting.

“This is based on three sessions a week, one of which will be with the Run Together group on a Thursday. If you can’t hit the goal that isn’t a problem at least you will be improving your fitness and hopefully enjoying yourselves.”
