Bridlington’s Yorkshire League badminton players are ready for their new season, but the club would like help from the lcoal community.
The team held a training session on Sunday with 14 talented players from the local area practising at Bridlington Sports Centre.
But the search is on for a sponsor who can help with the cost of playing at county level.
Captain Paul Robinson said: “These training sessions are vital in keeping up our standard we need to keep to maintain our level of play in the Yorkshire League.
“Playing against good players every other weekend keeps all the players who attend the training sessions sharp and focused and we have some cracking games.
“I have seen improvement in Shaun Fell, Thia Lee and Liam Whittington and certainly think the sessions have helped their games.
“It’s great to see badminton been played at a good standard in Bridlington, to have two teams in the Yorkshire League is terrific.
“We are certainly one of the smallest clubs and run on goodwill and my wife and I do most of the running of the club and organising with the Yorkshire League.
“If anybody wanted to sponsor us it would be so benefical to the future of the club.”
