Bridlington U12s v Halifax (Lost 2-1)
Having been promoted up a League from their last fixture, the U12 team expected some tough opposition and from the start of this game, Halifax were attacking strongly.
They soon caught the Brid keeper Molly Green unaware and scored early on.
However, the Brid team worked very well together, linking passes and tackling well.
Libby Marshall, Tom Manson and Ben Hindson had to work hard in defence to keep Halifax out, but unfortunately they broke through again to make the score 2-0.
Frankie Gascoigne also had a good game and worked tirelessly to drive the ball forward for Brid.
Towards the end of the match, Jack Green dribbled the ball down the right wing and passed it into the D, where Bryan Usher made a great strike.
Brid v Bingley (Lost 4-0)
This was another hard game for Brid against a well-drilled and experienced Bingley team.
Although the Brid team made numerous tackles, Bingley were too strong and scored four goals in quick succession.
Green in goal made some good saves, and stopped the scoreline from being worse, but Brid struggled to make any scoring chances.
Brid v Thirsk (Won 5-0)
From the start of this game, Brid were attacking the Thirsk goal and they were rewarded with a goal by Gascoigne quite early on.
Soon after this, he sent an accurate pass into the D and Jack Green converted.
The whole team worked well together, to keep the ball in the Thirsk half and Gascoigne had another shot saved.
Brid had possession for most of this match and Usher also had a shot on goal, which went in off the keeper, making it 3-0 to Brid.
Shortly after this, Green dribbled the ball in and scored his second goal, to put Brid further ahead.
Thirsk never looked like scoring from open play and Manson, Marshall, Kelly, Usher and Hindson defended well, to stop them scoring from two penalty corners.
Near the end of the game, Usher sent a great ball into the goal area, which Olivia Kelly got the final touch on, to make the score 5-0.
Usher was also unlucky to have another shot rebounded off the post.
Brid v Hull (Lost 1-0)
In this fourth and final match, the teams were quite evenly matched and they played some great end-to-end hockey.
But Hull managed to break away and score, making it 1-0.
The Brid forwards kept sending balls into the goal area and several players had shots saved by the Hull keeper, but unfortunately they ran out of time to equalise and the final score was 1-0 to Hull.
Some encouraging performances from the Brid team, and special mention to Tom Manson who played so well on his debut.
