Bridlington Golf Club is busy preparing for the 21st annual Seaside Pro/Am, which due to take place on Friday June 3.
Since the inaugural event back in 1996, the event has grown into the largest event of its kind in the Yorkshire PGA calendar and this is largely thanks to the incredible support of the main sponsors local accountancy firm Lloyd Dowson.
Event organiser Anthony Howarth told the Free Press: “Preparations are going well and we are looking forward to another successful event. I am delighted that Lloyd Dowson are once again our main sponsors of the event.”
The Seaside Pro/Am attractspProfessional golfers from around the North of England in a bid to win the leading professional first prize of £1,200 and the Seaside Pro-Am Trophy, donated by the Bridlington Free Press.
Each competing professional will be joined by three amateur golfers and these teams will compete for the Lloyd Dowson Team Trophy.
The winning team last year was local firm Bradley Roofing who won with a very impressive score of 127 (17-under-par). They are due to compete again this year and will be keen to retain the silverware.
This year the event will be supporting Viking FM’s Cash for Kids. There will be a number of fundraising activities during the day and everyone is welcome to go to the golf club during the day to support the cause.
