There were four runners representing Bridlington at the East Hull 20 Mile race, which is an excellent London Marathon warm-up race.
The weather was, in contrast to the previous day, very warm with little wind. The race is run mostly on quiet country roads and a disused railway track.
Cathy Wood again showed she is back to full fitness by finishing the course in 47th place and was third lady back in 2:18:08
Becky Clifton was next to finish in 165th in a time of 2:44:53 with Steve Frankish next up in 252nd position in 3:05:28.
Making up the four runners was Verona Petty, just over a minute behind Frankish in 259th position in a time of 3:06:51.
The Bridlington ladies team were second on the day.
On Saturday, Dave Foster took part in the 15-mile Falcon Flyer offroad race, which starts at Ravenscar Village Hall.
It takes in the sights of Harwood Dale, Pike Rigg and part of the Lyke Wake Walk to Beacon Howe, then returning to the finish at the village hall.
It was a colder than expected day, although dry, but with the previous day’s rain the course was muddy underfoot.
That did not stop Foster having a flier and finishing in first place in a time of 2:43:00.
