BRIDLINGTON’S Yorkshire League captain enjoyed a great debut for Yorkshire Over 45 in the ICC county tournament in Hertfordshire.
He won three of his five matches in the Premier Division, which included seven teams. Hertfordshire won the event, and their squad featured four England players, which included ex-Scarborough player James Teale.
Yorkshire men’s team finished a creditable fourth but the ladies team didn’t win a match.
Yorkshire drew all their matches barring one, to eventual winners Hertfordshire, which they lost 3-1.
Robinson, to his frustration, pulled out with knee injury which was treated by the Badminton England Physio to make sure he could play in the remaining matches on Sunday.
Robinson enjoyed the whole event and has been picked to play against Lancashire at Hull in February.
