The Yorkshire Wolds Half Marathon is run in conjunction with the Bishop Wilton Agricultural Show over a particularly demanding course.
The results are not yet available, however, four runners represented Bridlington Road Runners in the event.
Phill Taylor, as usual, was in the leading group until four miles from the finish, when he began to feel under the weather and almost dropped out.
But, he soon regained his composure and decided to continue running, managing to finish second and claim a rather appropriate prize of a garden fork and spade.
Meanwhile, Peter Gulc was seventh. Also running well were Sarah Wood, who was third lady, and Colin Parcell. Taylor, Gulc and Wood were also the winning team.
