Local racer Senna Proctor continues his progress in the 2015 Ginetta Junior Championship at Thruxton this weekend.
The series is part of the British Touring Car support package and is the premier saloon championship in Europe for juniors aged between 15 and 17 years of age.
After the first two rounds of the championship at Brands Hatch and Donington Park, Proctor has a healthy 32-point lead after finishing on the podium in all four races, and picking up two outright wins.
He is already on 126 points, with a big gap to Jonathan Hadfield in second and third-placed Patrik Mattiesen
It is a great start to the championship for the Rudston teenager, who was signed by British Touring Car team, Team BMR as their junior driver for this year after they spotted his potential in last year’s series.
The team also includes touring cars legend Jason Plato and current champion, Irishman Colin Turkington.
This weekend’s event takes place on the fastest circuit in England, Thruxton in Hampshire, with 26 cars racing round nose to tail at speeds of well in excess of 100mph.
Proctor said: “It was a massive honour to be headhunted by the biggest team in the BTCC and be put on their talent ladder.
“The deal has come with pressure to perform, but things are looking good so far, although in motorsport you cannot count on anything.
“Things can go wrong, but for now we are just enjoying our great start to the season.”
Lesley Jackson of LAPD Property Developments continues to support Proctor for a second year in the series, which is a massive help in his quest to become this year’s champion
This weekend’s race will be shown on ITV4.
