Headlands teacher Mike Hoult travelled to the home of English rugby last week as a reward for his dedication to school sport.
He was at Twickenham to collect his Real Rugby Hero Award for promoting rugby to pupils.
The citation for the award said: “Mike has delivered PE lessons and after-school clubs to all year groups, resulting in attendance at every district festival at every age group during this period.
“Mike has also worked with other schools to arrange extra fixtures to provide extra playing opportunities for multiple school teams in the area.”
The awards scheme were sponsored by NatWest, whose sponsorship manager Brett Williams said: “Unsung heroes invest a phenomenal amount of time in the development of schools rugby, often for little thanks.”
