No rest for the Road Runners over the Christmas period

On a lovely still Boxing Day morning, eight members of Bridlington Road Runners braved the frosty conditions to blow out the Christmas Day cobwebs by taking part in the Est Hull Harriers 10k road race.

First home for the club was Scott Hargreaves in 48th place in 42:22.

Next home was Anthony Hughes in 46:54, closely followed by Simon Porter in 47:37 with his son Ashley right behind him in 47:55.

Jonathan Bell made it home in 50:23 and the first lady from the club was Tracy Bell in 53:14, with Wendy Foster putting in a strong time of 54:51 and Amanda Tindall completed the team in 1:01:55.

On Saturday 27 December, the final Parkrun of the year was completed by 79 runners, 19 of them being Brid Road Runners.

Continuing to run well was Nick Jordan in 20:03, while Scott Hargreaves, Anthony Hughes, Ashley Porter, Simon Porter all recovered from the previous days race to complete the run too.

Tim and Sharon Puleston both impressed, Tim finishing in the top 10 and Sharon being the first Bridlington RR lady home.

Other runners were Josh Taylor, Kevin Sissons, Zoe Ellis, Cameron Sissons, Pete Royal, Verona Petty, Stuart Atkinson, Dave Foster, Kirsten Porter, David Duffill, Tina Calthorpe and Linda Hall.

Taking part in Skipton’s Parkrun were John and Janet Potter, both running tremendously well.

John finished in third place in 20:14 with Janet being first lady home in 23:17.
