Hilderthorpe School’s netball team will be representing the East Riding at the Level Three Humber Games next month.

They were runners up in the East Riding High Five Netball league play-offs at Longcroft School in Beverley last Friday.

At the play-offs, the Hilderthorpe team played six matches, beating Driffield, Mount Pleasant, Swanland and Brough, losing to Kirkella and picking up a draw against the overall winners Leven.

If they can finish in the top two at the Humber Games, they will have a chance to represent the Humber at the Yorkshire Netball Regional School Games in Sheffield the following week.

Hilderthorpe had won the local league with a 100% record to qualify for the Longcroft tournament.

They won all 10 of their matches, scoring 154 points and conceding only 27, against teams from Wold Newton, Flamborough, Bay Primary, Our Lady and St Peter’s and Burlington.
