Despite battling temperatures approaching 25C, Bridlington Road Runners’ Seon Martin broke the six-and-a-half hour barrier at the Outlaw Half Ironman Triathlon in Nottingham.
Martin completed his 1.9km outdoor swim in 45 minutes. The 56-mile cycle took three hours 15 minutes and his time for the half marathon run was two hours and four minutes. Including transitions, his final time was 6:22.
“I was hoping to beat 6:30 so was really pleased. Next year, I will be doing the full Ironman.
“I would like to thank Kyle Mummery and element fitness for all their help.”
