Bridlington 3rds travelled to Scunthorpe on Saturday, hampered by a number of late withdrawals, and suffered a heavy defeat.

The Marauders elected to play against the wind in the first half and in an attempt to weather the storm.

But the home side were well-organised and took control from the early stages, scoring 32 unanswered points before the interval.

With conditions in their favour in the second half, Bridlington fared better but were unable to get on the scoresheet, and Scunthorpe ran in two more tries to make the final score 44-0.

Despite the conditions, both sides played with a good spirit.

Bridlington 2nds hosted Scarborough 2nds under the floodlights at Dukes Park last Wednesday.

Their early dominance paid off and they scoredthree first-half tries through Tom Willson, Rob Warner and Michael Nugent, with Tom Kemp kicking two conversions.

The visitors got off the mark in the second half, with two tries of their own, one of which was converted.

But Bridlington added four more scores, with John Tate and Sizwe Zondo adding to a double by Liam Hughes.

Kemp added another conversion and Josh Rayner landed another to wrap up a 43-12 win.
