There was a truly international atmosphere at the Sewerby Parkrun on Saturday morning as the race was won by Frenchman Valentin Chartier in a time of 17:21.
Chartier joined Bridlington Road Runners for the summer while studying in the town and sadly he is soon to head back to his home in France.
In fifth place was Australian member of Brid RR, Shannon Bakes, who had returned to the UK to get married, and his time was 18:58. Another Australian taking part was Bakes’ mate, Nathan Pieremont, who was also over for the wedding, and finished third. Home grown Bridlington Road Runners also did well with a further three recording times under 20 minutes for the 5K distance. These were Danny Brunton, second in 17:42, Martin Smith, seventh in 19:34, and Nick Jordan, eighth in 19:54.
Three club members completed the course in personal best times - Josh Taylor 21:20 (17th), Shaun Foster 22:11 (22nd) and Lewis Dale 24:47 (38th).

The Yorkshire Wolds Half Marathon has been on the race calendar for many years and is run over a very testing course in the surrounding area of Bishop Wilton.
The race is held in conjunction with Bishop Wilton Agricultural Show and this year the start and finish had to be changed because the showground had been moved to a new location.
At the time of writing, the official results have not yet been published. However, several Bridlington RR members were among the prizes. Cathy Wood continued her good form, to finish as first lady.
Andy Baker, John Potter and Pearl Bayford won prizes in their vet categories and Bridlington RR also won the second place team prize with the team comprising Wood, Potter and Baker.
Also running were Janet Potter, Dave Foster and Colin Parcell.
Meanwhile, two members of Bridlington RR ran in the Blackpool Summer 10K.
Andrea Parker finished the race 175th place with a time of 53:18 and Mark Loft had a time of 58:45 in 282nd position.
