The Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend is Scotland’s biggest running event and this year attracted over 30,000 runners.

The marathon course is reputed to be the fastest in the UK with a drop in elevation of 40 metres from the start to the finish.

Representing Bridlington Road Runners was John Nolan who did well to finish in 3:17:54 after suffering with a muscle problem in the days leading up to the race.

Frenchman Valentin Chartier, who has joined Bridlington RR for the summer months while he is studying in Bridlington, won the Sewerby Parkrun for the second consecutive week.

Bridlington’s Cathy Wood was the first woman home, giving the club winners in both categories.

Three people managed to run personal bests at Parkruns over the weekend. These were Catherine Thornton and Zoe Ellis at Sewerby and Scott Hargreaves in Hull
