Over the past six weeks, 20 Year 10 pupils at Headlands School have been taking part in a rugby league young leaders course run by Hull FC.

The course teaches the pupils the role of a coach and basic skills needed to play the sport.

In the final week, the students organised and ran a tag rugby festival for Year 7 girls to showcase their achievements.

The festival was a huge success with all the girls taking part in a skills section then a tag tournament.

Headlands are hopeful that a partnership with Hull FC will lead to more opportunities for girls to play rugby.
