THE badminton season starts very soon with the Priory club’s nights already underway on Thursdays between 8pm and 10pm at Bridlington Sports Centre.
The cost is £1.50 for regular club members and £3 for non members and the club would gladly welcome new member.
Ring Paul on 403435 about attending or just pop down on Thursday nights, you will be made welcome.
There will also be a charity badminton on Saturday between 2pm and 5pm at the sports centre. The cost is £6 for adults and £4.50 for juniors aged 16 or under.
Badminton development officer Paul Robinson (pictured) said: “Please come on down and get involved in our great sport of badminton.
“It’s a great sport to keep you fit and meet new people and not expensive to play.
“Its the fastest racket sport in the world and great for burning the calories and keeping you healthy.
“Players can either play competively in the league or just attend club nights to gain more experience.
“I hope people will be inspired to take up sport after the brillant success of the Olympics. I was inspired myself so I am hoping badminton, which is a popular sport in Bridlington, will become even more popular and people who play it now and then or played years ago and given up or have not played, get in contact with me and come and play.
“As well as Priory’s club nights, Northcliffe meet on Thursdays from 8pm to 10pm and High Fliers have a brillant junior set up run by Tony Wigley has a club night on Fridays.”
