Kilham’s James Cowton is looking forward to the Spring Cup National Road Races this coming weekend at Oliver’s Mount in Scarborough.
Under the sponsorship of Danny Tomlinson Racing, Cowton will be competing on a Honda Fireblade 1000cc, a Honda 600cc and a Kawasaki ER6 in the two-day meeting which is attracting a lot of well-known riders including Ryan Farquhar, Guy Martin, Dean Harrison, Ivan Lintin and Lee Johnston.
Cowton was last out at the NEMCRC meeting at Croft near Darlington before Easter, on his Honda 600 and Kawasaki er6.
He had won The Laird of Croft Trophy last year so returned hoping to retain the title. Throughout the weekend Cowton had eight races to compete in so he was very busy getting the bikes set- up and ready for racing.
Although he had some very good stiff opposition, Cowton came out smiling and kept the title and trophy for The Laird of Croft, by winning seven of his eight races.
The Spring Cup National Road Races at Oliver’s Mount starts on Saturday with practice at 9am with a 10-race programme over the weekend. Prices for entry are £20 on the Saturday and £25 for Sunday, with race programmes at £5.
