Sports clubs in Bridlington have been invited to see the latest developments at the club’s new leisure centre.

The £25 million East Riding Leisure Bridlington complex is due to open in late May or early June and centre bosses have issued an open invitation to local clubs to go and have a look round the stunning new facility before the doors open to the public.

Centre manager Adam Mainprize said: “East Riding Leisure Bridlington will offer state of the art facilities, with surprising flexibility, to a wide range of sports clubs in the area, and the next few weeks will be a great opportunity to come and have a sneak preview of what they can expect.”

Bridlington Swimming Club have already visited the site, and have been shown the new swimming pool in the complex.

Head coach Chris Hill, who was accompanied by chairman of the club Kev Sissons, said : “This is a fabulous facility and is truly state of the art.

“We are really excited to get into the pool in due course.”

Sports clubs wanting to go and visit East Riding Leisure Bridlington should email the centre manager at to arrange a suitable date and time.

Work is progressing well at the new leisure centre on The Promenade, which, in addition to swimming, will also offer a sports hall, Clip n’Climb wall, a health suite, and a 100-station Tone Zone, plus many other features.

The swimming area will feature a Splash Zone fun pool which will be home to two interactive water slides – Aqua Smash and Slide Champ – and an interactive waterplay structure with a huge Super Splash Tipping Bucket, water jets and toddler games.

Aqua Smash will feature sensors that users can touch while sliding down. Slide Champ is the speed slide – users will lie down and slide against the clock.
