New swimming classes for Bridlington’s youngest water babies are now up and running.
The Swim Start sessions are open to babies from three months old, at a family-friendly pool in the village of Thwing.
Half hour sessions run every Monday morning to give babies their first steps in enjoying being in the pool.
Instructor Kirsty Skeates said: “These lessons are a great way for parents or even grandparents to be able to introduce their children to the water, in a safe, fun and friendly enviroment, using songs, signs and teaching aids.
“The STA starfish series works slowly through the six stages, with each stage giving you and your child, the confidence to be safe, in and around the water.
“All Swim Start Swim School teachers have recognised qualifications to teach baby and pre-school lessons, so you can be safe in the knowledge that your child is in the safest possible hands”
Although the first-term has already started, parents can book single sessions.
Sessions for babies aged three months to one year take place from 10am to 10.30am, followed by classes for toddlers aged between one and three years.
The second term will begin in mid-April and run until June
Swim Start Swim School was formed last year and also runs pre-school, beginner and improver lessons at the Palms Leisure Centre in Carnaby.
It is also planning to launch a Junior Lifeguard Academy later this year.
This is a brand new survival and rescue training programme that has been specifically created for young people aged over eight.
It will feature lifeguarding skills, first aid, snorkelling, ocean awareness and sports skills.
