Bridlington golfer hits his first hole-in-one

Bridlington Golf Club member Barrie Maull achieved the ultimate golfing feat last week when he recorded his first hole-in-one.

He was playing in the club’s Monthly medal on Sunday 7 April when he was shocked but delighted to see the ball disappear into the hole while playing the 144-yard second hole.

Maull has been playing golf for over 20 years and felt, like many golfers, the achievement might elude him, but his long wait came to an end when his nine wood tee shot found the back of the hole.

He celebrated his feat in the time honoured fashion with a round of drinks at the 19th hole.
