There was no happy ending for Bridlington RUFC when they made their television debut on Saturday.
Their game at Hullensians was the first sporting fixture to be shown on local channel Estuary TV.
Bridlington fell behind early on but recovered to take a 13-10 lead into half-time.
But the hosts bounced back after the break and ran out 17-13 winners. The result sees Hullensians leapfrog Bridlington into third place in the Yorkhire One table.
Head coach Paul Cook said: “We played poorly and did not keep hold of the ball for long enough.
“The TV experience was OK, if somewhat of a distraction perhaps.”
Bridlington have a weekend off before hosting York on February 13.
The second team were also beaten by their Hullensians counterparts at Dukes Park, going down 22-0.
But the third team prevented a whitewash by winning 20-7 in Hull.
