YOUNGSTERS and coaches from Bridlington Club For Young People proved just how much they need a new minibus – by running all the way home from Scarborough.

MEMBERS of Bridlington Club For Young People raised more than £2,000 towards the cost of a new minibus by running from Scarborough to bridlington.

The group set off from Olivers Mount and less than three hours later, some had already made it back to the finishing point, the Telegraph pub in Quay Road.

Head coach Damien Grant said: “At first, we hoped to raise £1,000, then it went up to £1,500 but to get at least £2,000 is brilliant.

Supporting the run but unable to take part because of upcoming county title bouts were George Horner and Darren Boyes.

The club thanked staff at the Telegraph for providing refreshments
