Young racer Matthew Bonnett again has taken a podium finish in his latest race in the Leeds Karting Junior League.
The 10-year-old qualified in fifth place, out of 15 competitiors, with his closest rival in the standings just one place ahead of him.
Bonnett had to push hard from the start as he wanted to catch his rival and he managed to achieve his aim after only a few laps when he overtook him.
When Bonnett, who goes to Martongate School, was coming up against the backmarkers, his rival was on his tail again and the Bridlington youngster had to drive defensively for more than 20 laps to ensure he kept his nose in front.
Bonnett finished third and was voted driver of the day yet again for good, clean, defensive driving. That meant he picked up extra points which now put him 10 points clear at the top of the junior league board.
