Members of Bridlington Golf Club Senior Section assembled at the course for the Spring Cup competition, which coincided with the celebration of 25 years since the EGGS had been formed.
It was a beautiful crisp Spring morning and the format was a four-ball betterball pairs game.
After a meal, John Brompton thanked all players for attending and furthermore thanked the following for their sterling service into the organisation of the EGGS over these past 25 years: Peter English, Jim Boulton, Peter Walker, Roger Thorpe, John Hearmon, Ray Hall, John Brownett, Norman Wilson. George Haley, David Thrower and the current committee of Tony Kerr and Martyn Scutt.
Prize giving then followed, firstly, for the Norman Wilson Trophy.
This trophy was presented by past EGGS captain Ray Hall to David Wilson, with Bill Payne receiving the runners up prize.
Then, John Brompton presented the prizes for The Spring Cup.
The winners were Peter Belt and Ron Broadbent with 44 points, ahead of second-placed Ray Hall and JC Wilson on 43 points with Tony Berrigan and Bill Payne in third place with 42 points.
A vote of thanks was given to Tony Kerr for organising the day’s competition.
The next EGGS match will be away against Scarborough South Cliff Golf Club today.
